CEPIC – Programme of the New Media Conference
This year the programme of the CEPIC Congress is enhanced by the introduction of the Wednesday’s New Media and Metadata Conferences, an extra day of inspiration and learning with top speakers. The Panels will address photographers and agencies.
Separate registration is open.
The popular International Photo Metadata Conference which will be held for the fourth time at CEPIC, takes place on the same day and is included in the New Media Conference entrance fee.
Both events are included in the registration fee to CEPIC Congress.
Klaus Plaumann, vice president of CEPIC, says : “Clever and business minded professionals will attend this meeting which will show us a different perspective on the picture market and ideas you might want to consider in 2010 and beyond.”
Jazz Mandair, President of JaincoTech and official sponsor of the CEPIC New Media Conference stated : “When we heard about the New Media Conference, JaincoTech felt it was an ideal opportunity to highlight our capabilities and demonstrate that we will continue to be an integral part of CEPIC members current and ongoing workflow requirements. The fact that Yuri Arcurs is the keynote speaker and has been using JaincoTech's retouching, keywording and online submissions services for the past three years, is an additional validation of that fact.”
From 19 April, separate tickets are available for these two events for photographers and other media professionals :

This half-day conference will focus on business related best practices for using photo metadata. The results from a survey among photo businesses and their clients will show how metadata is used currently and what improvements are requested. The core of the Conference will be an extensive “How To” session on applying metadata at different stages of photo workflows based on brand new IPTC metadata panels. The session will include the first public presentation of a controlled vocabulary for images and other visual content, currently under development by an IPTC working group. As a third focus the Conference will address how technical systems for searching images work and how this is influenced by metadata.
Participation at this conference only is possible at € 50 net. This fee does not give access to the New Media Conference on the same day, to the Welcome Reception or/and to any of the events or panels of the CEPIC Congress from Thursday through Sunday.
ABOUT CEPIC
CEPIC was founded in 1993 to have a unified representation in light of new legislation emerging from Brussels. Registered as an EEIG (Economic European Interest Group) in Paris in 1999 and achieving observer status at WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organisation) in 1997, as the first organisation within the picture industry to do so, CEPIC now represents more than 1,000 picture agencies and photo libraries in 18 countries across Europe, both within and outside the European Union. CEPIC's membership includes large and smaller stock photo libraries, major photo news agencies, art galleries and museums. CEPIC is a member of IPTC since 2005 and of ICOMP since 2009.
The CEPIC Congress is the largest event of its kind in the world, presenting the entire spectrum of the Image Industry each year in a different European city. After a very successful CEPIC Dresden with over 600 delegates in a recession year,we expect an even higher level of attendance in 2010.
